This site is published in a personal capacity by Melvin Lefèvre, reachable at melvinlefevre78@gmail.com. This page explains what data is collected during a visit, why, and how to exercise your rights.
Audience measurement
Two systems measure the site’s traffic, running side by side.
Google Analytics sets cookies (including _ga and _ga_EXS1QS7PYS) as soon as you arrive, to measure visitor numbers, pages viewed and where visitors come from. This information is transmitted to Google Ireland Limited, which may process it outside the European Union. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking third-party cookies in your browser settings.
An in-house audience counter also runs, without setting any cookie and without storing your IP address in clear text: each visit is identified by a technical fingerprint computed from your browser and a key that changes every day, making it impossible to track anyone beyond 24 hours. This counter is used to check Google Analytics’ figures and to recover the real traffic from visitors who block advertising trackers. Aggregated data is kept for 400 days.
Contact form
The site’s contact form (WPForms) collects the name, e-mail address and message you voluntarily enter, for the sole purpose of replying to you. This information is kept for as long as needed to handle your request, then deleted. It is never sold or used for commercial purposes.
Language preference
The site is available in French, English and German through the Polylang plugin, which sets a technical cookie (pll_language) to remember your chosen language. This cookie serves no other purpose and is never shared with a third party.
Virtual tours (Kuula)
The 360° virtual tours embedded in some articles are hosted by the third-party service Kuula. Displaying them sets a technical cookie from the kuula.co domain, required for the viewer to work. This site has no control over that cookie; see Kuula’s privacy policy for details.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Hostinger, headquartered in Cyprus. Technical server logs (IP address, date and time of connection, pages viewed) are kept by the host for security purposes, according to its own retention policy.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have a right of access, rectification, erasure and objection over your personal data. To exercise it, write to melvinlefevre78@gmail.com. If you are in the EU, you may also lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority if you believe your rights are not being respected.
What this site does not do
This site never sells or rents personal data to third parties, does not display targeted advertising, and sets no advertising cookies.
